Exciting Developments
2006 National Tidy Town Winner:
The Collie Community has backed up its 2003 & 2005 South West & State Tidy Town titles and won the 2006 National Tidy Town competition. This is a wonderful achievement which has been the result of the community working hard to ensure our town is an attractive place to live, visit and invest.
Special thanks must go to the Tidy Towns Committee, headed by Peter Ashton (Premier Coal), who have worked tirelessly in the community and put together an exceptional submission on behalf of Collie. Collie's win of the National Title Award is a huge feather in the cap of the community.
Western Lakes Development:
The Collie Western Entrance project has been redefined by Council and is now progressing under a revised brief which will see the focus spread over three key areas. Council has set as desired outcomes the extension of the Collie Visitor Centre, beautification of the Western Entrance into Collie, incorporation of the Collie Museum into the precinct and the development of an Entry Statement welcoming visitors to the Community.
