Economic development activities revealed

The next instalment in the Shire of Collie’s Business Connection series is being held 6-8pm, Wednesday, 6 February 2019.

This free information session will provide an update on the work being done to diversify Collie’s economy and plan for our future.

You’ll hear about three exciting projects on the drawing board, in three very different industries as well as an overview of the Business Capacity Assessment conducted last year and an update on the Collie-Bunbury Economic Plan.

Shire President Sarah Stanley said the most urgent strategic priority for the Shire was in diversifying the economy so that new opportunities are provided for the workforce displaced by changes in the coal mining and power generation sector.

The Shire is working closely with the State government on driving economic growth and stimulating job creation in Collie and surrounding regions.

Part of this work includes the Collie Futures Small Grants Program, which provides seed funding for economy-building projects and for the development of business cases and feasibility studies.

Business owners and interested community members are invited to attend the free Business Connections session being held at the Collie Ridge Function Room from 6-8pm on Wednesday, 6 February 2019.

Light refreshments will be provided.
