The Shire of Collie is seeking a motivated, suitably qualified and enthusiastic Technical Officer to
join our Operations team. This role provides essential technical and administrative support across civil infrastructure, traffic management, and customer service functions, contributing to the delivery of high-quality services to our community
Key responsibilities of the position will include:
- Provide first-line customer service for operations-related enquiries, including the management
of service requests. - Assist with the preparation and assessment of traffic management plans for events, road
closures and works. - Support the delivery of minor civil infrastructure projects, including estimating, scheduling,
procurement and site coordination. - Liaise with utilities, consultants and external stakeholders to support works delivery.
- Manage traffic counter operations and prepare traffic count reports
The successful candidate will demonstrate experience in the procurement and management of civil engineering or maintenance works across roads, drainage, footpaths and open space infrastructure. They will have the ability to manage small projects efficiently, ensuring works are delivered on time and within budget, and possess sound knowledge of traffic management requirements for road works. Strong computer skills are essential, including proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and the ability to adapt to in‑house systems.
The role also requires the ability to interpret technical plans and drawings, along with a current ‘C’ Class driver’s licence.
An attractive remuneration package up to $98, 000 will be offered based on skills and experience, with a base cash salary of up to $84, 630 plus allowances. Residing within the Shire of Collie will be highly regarded but is not essential, and a housing allowance will be offered for such.
