Applications are open for the second round of the Premier Coal Community Support Program 2017.
The program offers cash grants of up to $5,000 plus in-kind support, like materials and volunteer labour, for groups and projects that enhance the economic, social and environmental wellbeing of the local community.
Premier Coal General Manager Bill McKinstrey encouraged groups to apply. “Our Community Support Program aims to make a genuine and positive different to Collie and the surrounding area,” he said.
Detailed guidelines and an application form can be found on Premier Coal’s website.
Applications close on 31 August. A committee of community members and Premier Coal employees will then assess the applications before announcing the round two recipients in September.
The successful round one applicants, announced in March, included Riding Develops Abilities Collie which received funds to purchase a new horse, PCYC Collie for a youth driver program, Collie Wildlife Care and Collie Motorplex. Several events were also supported including the upcoming 2017 Collie Adventure Race, the annual Tom Lowry Memorial Cycle Event, and a Collie Children’s Week coming up in October.
