The Shire of Collie requests expressions of interest seeking to lease Buckingham Hall, Griggs Road, Buckingham. This 167m2 former school is located at the terminus of the Collie-Darkan Rail Trail. The building is set within a large clearing in a jarrah forest, within easy reach of the centre of Collie and next to the Dunderling Pool on the Collie River.
Buckingham Hall and surrounding lease area has the potential to be used for a large variety of uses including a local community hall, destination restaurant, outback pub, scout/church retreat etc. The remote bush setting is suitable for camping, bush craft, hiking, horse riding and other rural pursuits while the Duderling Pool and Collie River can be used for activities such as swimming, kayaking and fishing.
The historical jarrah and iron building is iconic to the area, however has fallen into a state of disrepair. Assistance from the Shire to restore the building to its former glory and fit it out for its future use may be available to the right person.
